Instagram as a source tool for inspiration in architecture, interior design and decoration
Instagram is the mobile application and trendy social network with more active users in total, specifically 500 million users using this app every day, which already exceeds the amount of 800 million registered users. In recent years new features have been included unseating potential applications such as Snapchat and Vine, reducing their number of active users, and even forcing them to close (in the case of Vine).
Being a social network based on images and short videos, it offers us the opportunity to visualise attractive architectural projects or interior design proposals from any corner of the world. By offering this option and facing all the Instagram’s millions of users, it gets difficult to find the right inspiration for our needs. That’s why TINO will show you some of the new features of this application that will easen this task.
One of the options that Instagram shows us and maybe, one of the least used, is the option to save publications. Below each post that we visualise there is a bookmark icon to which we must click in order to save the post.
Once we want to check the saved posts we must go to our profile and look for the bookmark icon, and we will have access to them. Another option that is offered is to create collections, something similar to the Pinterest boards that we mentioned in another blog post.
The last feature allowed by Instagram is to follow hashtags. This functionality is very similar, if not equal to Twitter. In the social network Twitter hashtags are key for finding tweets of our interest. For this reason on Instagram this tool has been implemented in order to be able to follow the posts that are published, and to include certain hashtags.
Searching for content using hashtags is a way to cure content on the Internet. Thanks to this, our search for interesting posts on Instagram will be more specific.
To use this function we must simply access the search section, represented by the icon of a magnifying glass, and write the word or keywords that we want to search. We must notice that previously we should have selected the search for hashtags (icon #) just to find hashtags (once you have them written them similar hashtags are recommended).
Once the hashtags been located the option to follow will show up. By clicking we can see all Instagram posts that contain that particular hashtag.
Finally, we recommend you follow our Instagram and Pinterest profiles, where you will find natural stone designs and the latest new in the sector. From TINO professional section you can download in BIM format our materials to implement them to your projects, besides finding images of inspiration and recommended blog posts.
